Women's Soccer Tops Albany, 2-0

Stony Brook sophomore Tiffany Fasullo netted a goal and added an assist, as the women's soccer team blanked Albany, 2-0, this evening at LaValle Stadium in America East Conference action. With the win, Stony Brook improves to 4-12-2 (1-6 America East) while Albany falls to 1-17 (0-7 America East).

Five Stony Brook seniors played in their final home match of their careers on Senior Night this evening. Jackie Anthony, Cindy Bennett, Danielle Lewis, Kirsandra Seaton, and Chelsea Van Horn were all honored before the match.

Senior Danielle Lewis slipped behind the Great Dane defense, and Fasullo delivered a pass that Lewis buried into the back of the net at the 63:07 mark.

Fasullo then added an insurance goal just over seven minutes later when she recieved a feed from sophomore Kristin Mishrell and lofted the ball into the left hand side of the net, just out of the reach of Albany goalkeeper Andrea Dunn.

Dunn, who was pressured all match as the Seawolves fired off 24 shots, made 11 saves in the loss. Cindy Bennett faced just five shots in the match and was not forced to make a save.
 

 

Stony Brook plays their final match of the 2005 campaign when they travel to take on Vermont on Sunday, October 23. Kick-off is slated for 1:00 p.m.
