Women's Soccer Incoming Freshmen Taryn Schoenbeck and Meghan Gilley Named To ESPNRISE.com Spring Girls' All-America Team

Aug. 3, 2009

Stony Brook, N.Y. - Stony Brook University women's soccer incoming freshmen Taryn Schoenbeck (Newark, Del.) and Meghan Gilley (Macungie, Pa.) were selected to the ESPNRISE.com Spring Girls' All-America team, the publication recently announced. Schoenbeck and Gilley were honorable mention selections to the team, which was compiled based on input from high school coaches and media all-star teams from around the country.

Gilley was a 2009 Pennsylvania Gatorade Player of the Year Finalist at Emmaus High School, tallying 35 goals and 13 assists as a senior. A two-time all-state selection, Gilley was also the 2009 Allentown Morning Call Player of the Year as she led Emmaus to the Lehigh Valley Conference and District XI Class AAA championships.

Schoenbeck led Padua Academy to three state titles and was ranked the No. 2 player in the state of Delaware as a senior. A first team all-state and all-conference selection as a senior as well, Schoenbeck tallied six goals and 12 assists.

The 2009 Seawolves open preseason camp on Wednesday and kick off the regular season on Friday, Aug, 21., hosting Iona at LaValle Stadium. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
