Fasullo Tabbed as America East Co-Player of the Week in Women's Soccer

Stony Brook women's soccer sophomore midfielder Tiffany Fasullo was honored as the America East Co-Player of the week, announced this afternoon.

Fasullo, a native of Setauket, N.Y., shared the weekly award with Maine's Heather Hathorn. Fasullo paced the Seawolves with three goals this week, en route to going 2-1 in games played.

The sophomore midfielder netted Stony Brook's first goal on Friday in the Seawolves 2-1 comeback victory against Sacred Heart in the Holiday Inn Express Invitational hosted by the Seawolves.

Named the tournament MVP, she tallied both of Stony Brook's goals agsinst St. Francis (Pa.), to lead the Seawolves to the Invitational's crown. She headed in a Chelsea Van Horn corner kick just 4:18 into the contest, and then calmy buried a corner kick at the 71:28 mark to claim the victory over the Red Flash.

She leads the team in scoring with six points (3g), shots (17), and shots on goal (10). Fasullo earns the Player of the Week honor for the first time in her career, although in 2004 she did recieve Rookie of the Week honors once.

Fasullo, a mathematics major, looks to build on the Seawolves recent success on Thursday, September 22 when Stony Brook takes on the Blue Devils of Central Connecticut State in New Britain, Conn. Kick-off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
