Barbuto Nabs America East All-Rookie Honors

Oct. 31, 2005

Freshman Brooke Barbuto was named to the America East All-Rookie squad after her inaugural season as a Seawolf. Sophomore Krista Shilts was given Honorable Mention accolades as well.

Barbuto, a native of Syracuse, N.Y., was fourth on the team in scoring with five points, off two goals and an assist. She led Stony Brook to victory against Siena on September 9th, netting the game-winning goal and adding an assist. She started in all 18 games for head coach Sue Ryan this season.

Shilts, who hails from Fairfax, Va., follows up her All-Rookie campaign from last season, with garnering America East Honorable Mention accolades. She anchored the Stony Brook defense, starting all 18 games.

The Seawolves finished the season with a 5-12-1 record, with a 2-6 record in conference play.
