Barbuto and Timmes Named First Team All-America East In Women's Soccer

Oct. 31, 2007

Cambridge, Mass. - Senior Jackie Timmes (Mastic, N.Y.) and junior Brooke Barbuto (Syracuse, N.Y.) were named as first team All-America East and All-Academic selections, the conference announced today. Sarah Dwyer (Laurel, Md.) was named to the all rookie team.

Timmes was a mainstay in the Seawolves defense this year as the team only allowed 11 goals all season in helping Stony Brook to a 10-game unbeaten streak.

Barbuto was steady in the midfield averaging more than three shots a game to lead Stony Brook to its best conference record since 2002.

Dwyer started all 16 games as a freshman, teaming with Timmes and senior Krista Shilts on defense.

#4 Stony Brook hosts #5 Maine in an America East quarterfinal match on Thursday evening. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 pm.
