Orlando, Fla. - Stephanie Poetzsch pitched a complete game shutout and Tricia Lipareli's RBI single in the fourth inning gave Stony Brook a 1-0 win over Cornell today in Orlando, Fla.

Poetzsch was dominant all game long, striking out 10 Big Red batters as she ran her consecutive scoreless innings streak to 13.

In the fourth inning, Lipareli singled home Jen Milito for the only run of the game. It was all that Poetzsch needed as she improved her record to 2-0. Milito also went 2-for-3 at the plate.

Stony Brook improved to 2-1 and will face Vermont later today.
