Box Score

Orlando, Fla. - Cornell raced out to a 7-0 lead over the first 3 2/3 innings and held on for a 8-4 victory over the Stony Brook softball team Thursday afternoon. The loss snaps Stony Brook's five-game winning streak and made a loser out of freshman pitcher Lindsay DeLaRosa, who fell to 2-2 on the year.

The Big Red touched up DeLaRosa for seven runs in three-plus innings of work and the Seawolves were unable to recover.

Stony Brook's Christie McMurray continued her hotting hitting, going 3-for-4 with two runs batted in. Tory Menchise had a pair of hits and a RBI.

Stony Brook slips to 6-2 and finishes out its Florida swing tomorrow with a pair of games against East Stroudsburg and UMass-Lowell.
