South Orange, NJ - Misty Beaver struck out 12 batters and allowed just two hits in leading Seton Hall to a 5-0 victory over Stony Brook (7-5) in game 1 of a doubleheader Wednesday afternoon. The Pirates registered 14 hits in game two, winning 9-2.

Stephanie Poetzsch (5-2) went 4 1/3 innings in game one, allowing eight hits and striking out six.

The Seawolves got out of the gates quickly in game two, scoring on a Tory Menchise two-run single in the first that scored Jen Milito and Tricia Liparelli. However, Seton Hall countered with four runs in the bottom half of the inning to take control. Overall, the Pirates pounded out three homeruns and 14 hits in game two.

The Seawolves travel to Manhattan on Thursday for a twinbill starting at 2:30 p.m.
