Stony Brook, N.Y. - Shortstop Victoria Kavitsky has been named the America East Rookie of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. Kavitsky is hitting .349 in her freshman year and leads the team in doubles and runs scored and is tied for stolen bases.

The Cherry Hill, N.J. native hit batted .583 in a three-game sweep of Maine. Kavitsky had seven hits and scored seven runs. In the first game against Maine, Kavitsky homered to center field in the top of the eighth inning to put Stony Brook ahead for good, 3-2.
