Coach's Corner - A Note From the Desk Of Coach Bryant

Hello from Seawolves Softball! As we head into the summer months, we look back on our record-breaking 2009 season with a great deal of pride, a little bit of sadness and a strong optimism about Stony Brook Softball. We accomplished so much this past season and it was quite a journey. Season highlights included: Winning the first regular season America East title in program history with a solid 15-5 league record; a 15-game winning streak; a record 36 wins; an amazing 21-3 record at home; clinching the regular season title on UAlbany's home field; outstanding, career-best performances by several players and a record six players named to the America East All-Conference squads. Fleury, Struzenberg Named to America East All-Academic Team

Senior Marissa Fleury (Mahopac, N.Y.) and junior Alyssa Struzenberg (Cooper City, Fla.) continue to rack up the awards as they were named to the America East Softball All-Academic team on Tuesday afternoon. Both student-athletes have already been named to the conference's first team, ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District team and the Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-Mid-Atlantic Region first team. Fleury and Struzenberg are two of the ten softball players honored by the conference for their excellence on the field and in the classroom. [+]
