Women's Swimming and Diving Defeated By Vermont, 162-129
Jan. 20, 2007 Stony Brook, N.Y. - The Stony Brook women's swimming and diving team fell to Vermont, 162-129, at the University Pool on Saturday afternoon. The Seawolves fall to 2-7 while Vermont improves to 10-4. Stony Brook finished second in four of five events before Hailey Lewandowski finally got the Seawolves' first place points when she won the one meter dive with a score of 242.40. Lucy Liu touched first two events later when she won the 200-yard backstroke in 2:14.82. Lewandowski also won the three meter dive with a score of 226.73 and freshman Rebecca Sayles won the 200-yard IM in 2:19.17. Stony Brook's "A", "B" and "C" relay teams placed first, second and third, respectively, in the 400-yard freestyle relay. Stony Brook returns to action when the men's and women's team travels to Fairfield to take on the Stags on January 27 at 1 pm.
