Stony Brook, N.Y. - Stony Brook University's swimming & diving teams took nine top spots in their meet against Boston University on Saturday afternoon. The Terriers won both meets, beating the men's team 188-110 and women 200-100. Prior to the meet, Stony Brook honored former men's head coach John DeMarie with the unveiling of the new John DeMarie Scoreboard in University Pool.

The Seawolves looked strong in the freestyle events, as usual, taking the top spot in the men's 1,000-yard, 500-yard and 50-yard and touching first in the women's 200-yard and 500-yard. Sophomore Lukasz Ochmanski (Lodz, Poland) and freshman Zackery Good (Columbus, Ind.) dominated the 1,000-yard freestyle taking first and second respectively. Ochmanski also won the 500-yard free (5:06.69) and 200-yard IM (1:56.87).

On the women's side, freshman Darcy Heuser (Centerville, Ohio) won the 500-yard free (5:06.69) and 200-yard free (1:52.70). Her time in the 200 was just shy of a school record, and also just .04 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher Eve Kinsella of Boston. Kinsella would get her revenge though, just beating out Heuser in the 100-yard freestyle by .21 seconds.

Senior Michael MacDonald (Monroe Township, N.J.) was the fastest swimmer in the men's 50-yard freestyle, touching in 21.95. Freshman Kelsey Stranc (Chicago, Ill.) fell just short of winning the women's heat, finishing in second by .28 seconds.

Stony Brook took the top spots in both the men's and women's 200-yard breaststroke easily as sophomore Anastasia Kiryushkina (Moscow, Russia) completed the women's heat in 2:26.93 and freshman Ian Francis (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) took the men's in 2:12.20.

Rounding out the Seawolves first-place finishes was the women's 200-yard freestyle relay team of Heuser, junior Rebecca Sayles (Calgary, Alberta), sophomore Adrienne Policht (Mississauga, Canada) and Stranc.

Stony Brook's next meet is not until December 2nd when they travel to take on Iona and St. Francis in New Rochelle, N.Y.
