Stony Brook, N.Y. - Stony Brook's men's and women's tennis teams each cruised to easy victories over St. Peter's and New Jersey Tech on Saturday afternoon in its first home dual matches of the fall season. Both the men and the women beat St. Peters and NJIT, 5-0 and 4-1, respectively.

The women's team opened with a shutout victory over St. Peters, winning each of its matches in straight sets. The Seawolves then won all four singles matches against NJIT as senior Erica Federgreen (Scottsdale, Ariz.) won in three sets while sophomore Fanny Charliquart (Gueneugnon, France) and freshman Anna Pieschl (Gothenberg, Sweden) each won in straight sets.

The men's squad swept its single matches against St. Peters, with junior Ilan Shvartz (Haifa, Israel), junior Halvar Dil (Amersfort, Netherlands), junior Jon Epstein (Silver Spring, Md.) and senior Juan Carlos Cotto (Trujillo Alton, Puerto Rico) each winning in straight sets. Carlos Cotto and Shvartz opened the match against NJIT by grabbing the doubles point before Epstein, Dil and freshman Mitch Wong (Tampa, Fla.) each were victorious in their singles matches to give SBU the 4-1 victory.

Each squad will return to action in two weekends as the men head to the ITA Regional's while the women travel to Providence, R.I. for the Brown Tournament.
