Dikecligil Named America East Player of the Week for Second-Straight Time

Stony Brook, N.Y. - Senior Gulce Nazli Dikecligil (Istanbul, Turkey) was named the America East Volleyball Player of the Week for the second-straight week, according to a release from the conference on Monday. The outside hitter helped lead Stony Brook to a sweep of the Stony Brook Invitational this past weekend and a 3-1 overall record during the week. Dikecligil recorded 46 kills in the Seawolves' four matches, averaging 3.83 kills per set. She entered the week ranked fifth in the country in aces per set and increased her season average to 0.70 with nine aces during the week. Dikecligil posted a week-high 18 kills in an upset win over Xavier and posted a double-double (14kills, 11 digs) against Brown. She was also named MVP of the Stony Brook Invitational. Overall, Dikecligil has received the Player of the Week award three times this season. Stony Brook opens conference play this Friday when they travel to Binghamton.
